New Emergency Operations Coordinator

Briar Cliff University announces Patricia (Patty) Feese, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, to serve as Emergency Operations Coordinator.

With her added responsibility, Feese will help address emergency service needs for the University, including threat and risk assessments, developing and leading training activities for emergency response teams, preparedness planning, incident operation planning and directing, and implementing incident operations.

“We are so grateful to have Patty’s expertise on our team,” says Rachelle Karstens, Briar Cliff University President. “Not only is she a phenomenal instructor, she is also an incredibly experienced professional, particularly with respect to emergency management and preparedness planning. Patty has been serving in this role throughout the pandemic and has been instrumental in the University’s response. We look forward to her continued leadership in this regard.”

Patty joined Briar Cliff in 2019 after serving as a Police Lieutenant for the Colorado Springs Police Department. During that time, she was also an adjunct instructor for Criminal Justice, Homeland Security and Emergency Management for the University of Colorado. She is a certified FEMA instructor for ICS 300, 400 and exercises. She holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Southern Colorado as well as her Master’s in Public Administration degree with a certificate in Homeland Security from the University of Colorado.
