Theatre Club

The Briar Cliff University Theatre Club encourages students to foster dramatic performance skills, creativity, communication, and teamwork. Club members explore and engage with theatre through stage acting, improvisation, scene work, playwriting, set-building, lighting and technical design, play rehearsals, and student-directing.

The BCU Theatre Club makes use of on-campus performance spaces in the Theater building and Meis Recital Hall. The club also fosters relationships with the Sioux City community, cooperating with theatre groups that also perform at the BCU Theater, including REACH Theater, The New Stage Players, and the Penguin Project.

The Theatre Club regularly stages dramatic or comedic plays.

Recent performances include:

  • “Hearts Under One Roof” an original dramatic play written by BCU Students Ruben Munoz and Jack Ta, Fall 2023
  • “TH/IR/DS” a comedic family play, Spring 2024
  • “Death of a Doornail” a murder mystery comedy, Fall 2024
