Briar Cliff University Celebrates Student Achievement at 2025 Excellence Event

Briar Cliff University proudly celebrated the academic accomplishments of its students during the 2025 Excellence Event, held Thursday, April 24, in Heelan Hall. The annual event brought together students, faculty, staff, and community members for an evening showcasing scholarly and creative work across a wide range of disciplines.

The event kicked off at 4:45 p.m. in the Heelan Atrium with welcoming remarks and an overview of the evening’s sessions. From poster presentations to oral discussions and virtual sessions, students demonstrated the depth and diversity of their academic pursuits.

Featured presentations included: 

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy and Undergraduate Nursing PostersDisplayed in the Heelan Atrium, these sessions highlighted innovations in healthcare and patient-centered research. 

  • Spanish ePoster SessionsHeld in multiple classrooms, students from Spanish 101 to Spanish 311 presented language-focused research and cultural projects. 

  • Oral Presentations in Nursing, Psychology, History, and the Science of HappinessStudents shared in-depth insights and findings, many tied to real-world application and interdisciplinary inquiry. 

  • Graduate Nursing PresentationsDelivered virtually via Microsoft Teams, graduate students showcased advanced research and clinical studies.

From 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., the classrooms and atrium buzzed with energy as attendees engaged with student presenters and explored their work. The Excellence Event continues to serve as a platform for recognizing the hard work, curiosity, and creativity of Briar Cliff’s undergraduate and graduate scholars.

“This event is always a highlight of the academic year,” said Alexis Becker Patterson, Briar Cliff University’s Librarian and Archivist. “It’s a celebration of student dedication and the support of faculty mentors who guide them.”

The university extends its congratulations to all students who participated and thanks the faculty and staff who made the event possible.
