Kurz Presents at I.A.C.T.E. Conference

Assistant Professor of Education Kathryn Kurz recently presented for the Iowa Association of Colleges for Teacher Education’s (IACTE) Fall Virtual Conference.

In her presentation, How can I support/encourage college students with disabilities? Kurz provided examples of accommodations, modifications and various behavioral ideas for use in college classrooms. IACTE is a state alliance of educator preparation programs dedicated to the highest quality professional development of teachers and school leaders to enhance PK-12 student learning.

Kurz joined Briar Cliff this past summer. Prior to her arrival, she completed 29 years of public education in Nebraska as an elementary, middle, high school and special education teacher. She has served on several committees and advisory boards including the Grand Island Public Schools Advisory Committee, STARS Advisory Committee to the Commissioner (Nebraska Department of Education), Nebraska Council of School Administrators and Nebraska Council of Special Education Supervisors.
