Jacobson-Schulte Begins Interim Presidency at Briar Cliff University

(Sioux City, Iowa – July 5, 2022) Effective July 1, 2022, Dr. Patrick Jacobson-Schulte assumed the responsibility of Interim President for Briar Cliff University.

Originally from Lakeville, MN, Jacobson-Schulte is a practicing Catholic with diverse experience in finance and administration within educational institutions. He joined Briar Cliff June of 2021 as Vice President of Finance and most recently served as Executive Vice President in preparation of the Interim Presidency. During his tenure, Jacobson-Schulte has strengthened the university’s finances, strategized departmental excellence, projected financial growth opportunities, and enhanced operations

 Prior to joining Briar Cliff, Jacobson-Schulte was the Executive Director of Finance & Operations for Northeast Metro Intermediate School District 916, Vice President Chief Financial Officer at Dakota County Technical College/Inver Hills Community College, Vice President for Finance & Treasurer at The Sage Colleges, and served as Adjunct Faculty for nine years. He received his Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, Economics; Master of Business Administration; and Doctor of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University.

Beginning Fall of 2022, Briar Cliff’s Board of Trustees will launch a presidential search, with the objective to name the university’s 12th president by July of 2023.
