Briar Cliff University has signed an articulation agreement with Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC), allowing students with an Associate of Arts degree at WITCC to conveniently pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, International Business, Marketing, and Sports Management at Briar Cliff University.
The demand for workers that hold a degree in business and other related subjects remain high and is one of Briar Cliff’s top student enrolled department programs.
“WITCC provides a foundation upon which BCU can build well-rounded students who can excel in today’s business world,” says Mark Rossi, JD, Department Chair of Business at Briar Cliff University. “The knowledge of the student will be bolstered by experiential learning. There will be opportunities for internships in all six areas of study. These internships are not only local but also national.”
Every professor or faculty member within the business department at Briar Cliff University has experience in the discipline they teach. The cumulative number of years they’ve engaged in business practices equates to over 150 years.
“We have found our students are local students,” says Dr. Michael Rohlena, Assoc. Dean of Instruction for Career & Technical Education. “Our students are place bound students, they live in Siouxland and love Siouxland. This opportunity is beneficial to the students but also our entire economic community.”
The articulation agreement between Briar Cliff University and WITCC allows for students to have a guideline and completion track for pursing the degrees within these programs. Students will begin their education at WITCC and complete their Associate of Arts then transfer to Briar Cliff University to pursue their Bachelor of Arts degree.
The colleges partner for several other Articulation Agreements, including Education, Behavior Analysis/Psychology, Biology, Nursing, Social Work, and Criminal Justice.
