Briar Cliff Alumni Raise Over 34K to Change Lives

June 5, 2020

To support the ever emerging needs students and families who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19, Briar Cliff University recently established the BCUnited Emergency Scholarship Fund. This fund will be used to help students overcome unique, extraordinary, and unforeseen financial circumstances while attending Briar Cliff University.

With the goal of raising money to support this fund, Briar Cliff participated in the first-ever #GlobalGivingTuesdayNow, a new global day of giving and unity that took place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

BCU shared stories of our student and families experiencing hardships and seeking additional resources in these unprecedented times. They asked alumni to be "BCUnited" with students and give to briarcliff.edu/donate. In just 24 hours, Briar Cliff University’s generous alumni and donor community raised over $34,000 dollars to help change the lives of our students.

“The power of our proud alumni community never ceases to humble and inspire us” said Dr. Rachelle Karstens, Briar Cliff President. “They saw a need and stepped up to help. Proving once again that we truly are stronger together.”
