Rachel DeMoss
The sense of community at BCU drew Rachel DeMoss ('20) to The Cliff. "The small campus really allows you to get to know people even if they aren't in your classes," she says.
Originally from Monona, IA, Rachel also chose Briar Cliff because of the opportunity to be part of the Cliff Singers and Chamber Choir in addition to her double major in computer science and graphic communications. She chose computer science and graphic communications because she likes how the subjects complement each other and she enjoys creating new things.
Briar Cliff is known for its cozy campus and small class sizes, and Rachel says the size of her classes have made it easier to meet new people, get involved, and connect with professors.
"It's nice to get to know the professors and talk to them one-on-one during office hours or class because of the small class sizes," said Rachel.
For new BCU students, Rachel offered this advice: "Don't overwork yourself, but be as involved as you can because it will help you feel less homesick."
