Social Work Professor Publishes Article

June 30, 2020

Liz Rembold, social work professor, and department chair recently had an article published in Advances in Social Work and Welfare Education.   “’I feel like I know you’: Using Flipgrid in Online Social Work Education” was co-authored by Rembold and Julia Kleinschmit of the University of Iowa.

The article discusses the advantages of using Flipgrid, an interactive video discussion program for educators to create grid-style “classrooms” that encourages students to reflect on readings, provide peer-to-peer feedback, and demonstrate skills. Both Rembold and Kleinschmit reported on the class’ experience with the program and how effective of a tool it is for social work education.

Rembold joined Briar Cliff University in August 2014. Along with her position of associate social work professor and department chair, she was recently promoted to Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. She was honored as Distinguished Faculty in 2016.
