Cori Koopman Appointed as Vice President of Advancement at Briar Cliff University

(Sioux City, Iowa – December 21, 2023) Briar Cliff University proudly welcomes Cori Koopman to its leadership team as the newly appointed Vice President of Advancement, effective January 2, 2024. Koopman brings a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering meaningful connections to advance the University's fundraising efforts.
In her role, Koopman will collaborate closely with the Advancement and Grants team, leveraging her planning, leadership, and decision-making background. Her expertise spans various facets of development, including capital campaigns, cultivation and stewardship, annual events, and more.
“With over 25 years of dedicated service in the field, Cori is poised to significantly impact Briar Cliff's philanthropic initiatives,” said Dr. Patrick J. Schulte, Briar Cliff University President. “Her vision, experience, and commitment to the community make her an invaluable addition to our institution. Koopman recognizes the paramount importance of building relationships to propel the Briar Cliff University forward.”
A graduate of the University of Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family services, Koopman most recently served as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Northeast Community College. Her impressive career includes key roles at the American Heart Association in Lincoln, Nebraska, The Buggy Bunch in Vero Beach, Florida, and the Master’s Academy in Vero Beach.
Notably, Koopman has recently committed to serving as a Sioux City Chamber Ambassador, highlighting her dedication to community engagement and collaboration.
Briar Cliff University sincerely thanks Amy Derby for her outstanding service as the Interim Vice President of Advancement. Derby will continue to serve as the Director of Philanthropy.
