Briar Cliff University Welcomes New Campus Minister, Sr. Stella Nneji, S.M.

Briar Cliff University announces the appointment of Sr. Stella Nneji, S.M., as the new Campus Minister. A Sister of Mercy, Sr. Stella brings a wealth of experience in pastoral care, theological education, and community outreach to our campus.
Sr. Stella has served in various significant roles throughout her ministry career, demonstrating a deep commitment to pastoral care and education. Her recent positions include Coordinator of Hospital-Pastoral Ministry/Chaplain for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe at Lovelace Medical Center/Women’s in Albuquerque, NM, where she provided spiritual support and guidance to patients and their families. Prior to that, she was the Pastoral/Community Outreach Coordinator for International Students with the African Catholic Community at Holy Spirit College in Leuven, Belgium.
Sr. Stella's earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Theology from KU Leuven, Belgium. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Theology, Religious Studies, and Canon Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from the same institution. Additionally, Sr. Stella obtained a Bachelor's degree in philosophy and a Certificate from the Faculty of Philosophy at Pontifical Lateran University in Vatican City. Her theological credentials include the Sacrae Theologiae Doctorem (STD), Sacrae Theologiae Licentiatam, and Sacrae Theologiae Baccalauream from KU Leuven.

"Her experience in pastoral ministry, combined with her theological knowledge and compassionate approach, will greatly enrich our campus. We look forward to her leadership in nurturing the spiritual well-being of our campus community."
As Campus Minister, Sr. Stella will oversee the spiritual life on campus, provide pastoral counseling, and coordinate religious services and community outreach programs. Her role is integral to fostering a vibrant and inclusive faith community at Briar Cliff University, aligned with the Franciscan values of service, caring, and openness to all.
