Matt Thomsen

Matt has over 15 years of experience in higher education in both the university and community college setting. Matt came to Briar Cliff University from Western Iowa Tech Community College, where he was the Recruitment Coordinator. Before that he worked for the University of Iowa and the University of South Dakota.

Matt is responsible for coordinating and executing the day to day operations of the undergraduate and graduate admissions and financial aid departments at Briar Cliff University.

A Sioux City native, Matt has been married to his best friend Julie, a teacher at Dakota Valley Elementary, for 20 years. They have two children, Jamie (nine years old) and Lexi (four years old). He loves to play with his kids, enjoy the holidays, be outside, and watch (and quote) movies. Matt is proud to be part of the Briar Cliff community.
