Why This Program?

The Data Analytics program promotes the development of skills in logical reasoning, problem solving, data analysis, and communication of ideas. A Bachelor of Science degree in Data Analytics is a blended major between Mathematics, Computer Science, and Business.

Specialize Your Interest: Two additional tracks in the data analytics major provide opportunities for students to further specialize in their degree by focusing on business analytics or sports analytics.
Get Experience: Learn from our veteran faculty and land internships around Siouxland and beyond. As a student, you can receive credited internship hours. Although internships are not required, having one will ensure you graduate with real world experience.
Experienced Faculty: Our instructors have decades of teaching and professional experience, and they will be with you at every step, never more than an email, phone call, or video chat away.

More About the Program

The Data Analytics major is designed to prepare students for abundant employment opportunities in both public and private sectors including healthcare, business, finance, manufacturing, education, government, and science. Upon graduation, students majoring in data analytics will be able to understand and apply quantitative modeling techniques; design solutions using analytical software and technologies; evaluate data mining methods; recognize ethical, legal, societal, and economic concerns in the application of data analytics; effectively communicate findings orally and in writing; and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams using tools and concepts of data analytics.

Two additional tracks in the data analytics major provide opportunities for students to further specialize their degree by focusing on business analytics or sports analytics. An internship through the Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business department is recommended, but not required.
