DPT Admissions Coordinator
This position provides marketing, recruitment, and coordination of admissions processes for the Department of Physical Therapy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruitment and Admissions: Assists the Admissions Committee Chair of the DPT Department with daily recruitment and admissions activities; Maintains contemporary knowledge and responds to current trends in professional admissions; Utilizes feedback from DPT Admissions Committee to develop a marketing and recruitment plan; Coordinates, hosts, and attends targeted recruitment activities
- Admissions Decision Support: Makes recommendations to DPT Admissions Committee for policies, procedures, and guiding documents; Attends DPT Admissions Committee Meetings, provides reports, brings forth questions about applicant profiles, suggests to the Committee applicants to interview, and takes minutes
- Communication Coordination: Maintains and updates communication modes for current and potential applicants; Communicates consistently and in a timely manner with prospective students, applicants, and advisors; Takes decisions regarding admissions from the DPT Admissions Committee and communicates status to applicants
- Enrollment Support: Supports Briar Cliff undergraduate student pathway development and advisement for pre-PT students; Manages admissions’ databases; Manages the enrollment of accepted candidates into the DPT program
- Event Support: Works with DPT Admissions and Special Events Committees to design and implement interview days; Supports Briar Cliff undergraduate admissions for aspiring high school students interested in physical therapy; Participates in DPT activities
- Continuous Improvement: Supports assessment and report generation processes by accreditation, departmental, and University requirements; Other admission duties as assigned
Occasional travel may be required; Occasional work on nights and weekends may be required
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships
- Strong computer skills, including the use of Outlook, Word, and Excel
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED (but not required):
- Working knowledge of database management
- Marketing experience; Event coordination experience
- Higher education admissions experience

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
