The Clausen Art Gallery at Briar Cliff University is pleased to present  Swamp Thing, an exhibition of paintings by local artist Laura Hallen. In this collection, Hallen explores themes of resilience, adaptability, and ecological balance through her vibrant acrylic paintings on Plexiglas. Her work reflects a deep engagement with nature, focusing on the interplay between plants and water and highlighting the survival strategies plants employ in response to environmental changes. Inspired by the Orr Bog in northern Minnesota, Hallen’s work serves as a visual reminder of our interconnectedness with nature and the importance of preserving fragile ecosystems.

We invite you to join us for a reception at the gallery on Friday, January 24th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The exhibition will remain on view until March 1st, 2025.
