Transfer Admissions Counselor
The primary responsibility of the Transfer Admissions Counselor is to counsel potential new full time transfer students to convert those potential new transfer students to enrolled and connected BCU students. The focus of this position is to meet the unique needs of transfer students by communicating the benefits, features and processes at BCU. Secondary activities include providing service and information to all BCU students and managing special projects related to the admissions process. The Transfer Admissions Counselor must demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members as well as the campus community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Counsel potential new students about the BCU opportunity and its affordability in an effort to convert those potential students to enrolled students.
- Ensure visiting students have a complete campus experience, including follow up after the visit.
- Manage a territory; develop relationships with area community college; attend college/career fairs as assigned; coordinate inquiries and initiate the appropriate follow up for each student; quickly respond to and service the needs of prospective students; pre-awarding to use financial leveraging as a recruitment tool
- Review applications and assign a pre-award based on BCU admissions policies
- Communicating consistently and effectively with prospective students and their families in person and via phone, email, text messaging, printed media, and the internet
- Faithfully completing reports and managing special projects as assigned
- Working collaboratively with colleagues within Enrollment Management and financial aid, student development, athletics, registrar, academics, and other campus offices to ensure a consistent and smooth transition from applicant to student.
- Represent the BCU admission office in a positive, professional manner at on and off campus events.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- REQUIRED - Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
- One to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer knowledge (efficient in word and excel)
- Ability to prioritize work assignments
- Self-motivation with a high degree of initiative and independent thinking
- High level of confidentiality
SALARY RANGE STARTS AT $17.50/hour (eligible for overtime pay)
