Briar Cliff University Announces Legacy Gift for the College of Health & Equity

May 8, 2023

Briar Cliff University announced an update for a healthcare workforce training facility earlier this year, the College of Health & Equity. The updated plans called for a new building to better meet the needs of those teaching, learning, and receiving care.

Recently, Briar Cliff University received a significant anonymous legacy gift in addition to the $2 million grant award from the Economic Development Administration (EDA), Missouri River Historical Development (MRHD) support, and other donations, pushing the fundraising to over 60% of the project. The new building is estimated at a healthy $20 million goal.

“We are grateful for the community’s support and dedication to providing an interprofessional space to develop healthcare professionals and better support the marginalized or underserved through the Community Clinics,” says Michelle Boe, Vice President of University Advancement at Briar Cliff University. “The overall fundraising for the College of Health & Equity has resulted in the largest gift made in the history of Briar Cliff University to date.”

Briar Cliff University has worked alongside CMBA and Project Advocates to finalize plans for the new healthcare workforce training facility. The completion of the College of Health & Equity is slated for May 2025.

“Briar Cliff increased its fundraising goal to allow an aggressive redesign, focused on enhancing equitable access to healthcare and education for all students in the tri-state area,” says Boe. “With the redesign, the learning spaces and clinics will expand and bring all healthcare offerings into one facility.”
