(Sioux City, Iowa – April 26, 2024) The Siouxland Mental Health Conference, held on Briar Cliff University’s Campus, proved to be an enlightening event for healthcare professionals and advocates alike. Attendees addressed vital topics such as the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) and the crucial role of Occupational Therapy in addressing mental health needs.  
 
The conference featured Stephen Nawotniak, OTR/L, NYCPS, an author specializing in mental health. Nawotniak's insights brought attention to the intricate interplay between mental health and occupational therapy, providing attendees with new perspectives and practical strategies.  
 
The objectives of the conference were to offer insight into the latest developments when it comes to understanding and supporting mental health needs and bringing that knowledge into healthcare providers around Siouxland:
