ABOUT OUR OFFICE
The Health and Wellness Office has a licensed nursing staff, as well as a licensed counselor for students. The office provides basic health services at no cost to our students.
No appointments necessary!
All students carrying nine or more credit hours on the Briar Cliff University campus are required to carry health insurance. Coverage may be through the student’s parents or through insurance students carry on their own.
Medical History Form
All athletes who wish to compete for Briar Cliff are required to complete a medical history form upon admission to the University.
Students needing treatment or advice from the nurse's office are encouraged to visit or walk-in. However, if it is an emergency, you should call 911 as soon as possible. During office hours, a campus nurse is on hand. You can also be examined by a nurse practitioner, who is on campus twice a week (Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons). While our office provides basic health services at no cost to our students, there are minimal charges for laboratory testing, tuberculosis screenings and immunizations.
We want all BCU students to become proactive with the management of their own health, nutrition and overall wellness. We seek to assist and educate students with regard to their individual health issues and questions, and in developing healthy lifestyles that lead to success.
If you seek normal treatment outside of office hours, contact one of the urgent care clinics listed at the bottom of this page.
Counseling services are available, free and confidential for all Briar Cliff students. Please make an appointment by stopping in, or you can call or email the counselor anytime with questions or concerns.
The campus counselor is a licensed and certified mental health and addictions counselor and works with many life issues: alcohol or drug use/abuse, eating disorders, relationship issues, sexual abuse, stress and anxiety. Appointments are scheduled around your class schedule for your convenience.
