Briar Cliff's Raheem Cowan, left, and Robert Iron Shell earned All-American honors at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
GULF SHORES, Ala. — It seemed like just another day at the office for two of Briar Cliff's track executives.
Competing at the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships, both Chargers looked like they had been there before, although only one had. Looking to defend his outdoor national title in the triple jump, junior Raheem Cowan, came up an inch short, settling for second place with a leap of 15.49 meters. Meanwhile, freshman Robert Iron Shell finished fourth in the open 400-meter dash, doing so in a school-record time of 47.37 seconds.
