MARION, Ind. — Raheem Cowan became Briar Cliff's second-ever and first male multiple national champion on Saturday as he claimed the triple jump title at the 2013 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Cowan, who also won this year's indoor crown, jumped 50 feet, ¾ inches — more than 2 inches farther than the runner-up.

A year ago, as a freshman, Cowan finished third at outdoor nationals.

As a program, the Charger men produced one national champion (Cowan) and two all-Americans (Cowan and senior Clay Pagels). Pagels tied for eighth in the high jump.

On Friday, Charger senior Tara Cockerill earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish in the shot put, then wrapped up her sensational career on Saturday with a 13th-place finish in the discus.
