SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Service with a smile paid off for Briar Cliff University student-athletes, who raised more than $13,000 at “Lunch with the Chargers,” held recently at Texas Roadhouse.

At the annual fundraiser, BCU student-athletes took the place of regular Texas Roadhouse staff by serving lunch and bussing tables for more than 200 guests. Tickets for the meal – a menu of steak, potatoes, salad, rolls and beverage – were sold in advance. All proceeds go directly to Briar Cliff students in the form of scholarships.

FiberComm was the presenting sponsor of “Lunch with the Chargers.” Other sponsors were Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools, Blankenship Meier, CW Suter, Foulk Brothers, National Management and Record Printing.

“We are grateful to our many friends of Briar Cliff, student-athletes and employees who contributed to and participated in this event,” said Lorna Kohn, activities, events and e-media coordinator for University Relations. “As always, we are thrilled with the outpouring of support for BCU students.”
