International Marketing Executive to Lecture at Briar Cliff University

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Holly O’Brien, vice president of marketing for Sioux City Entertainment, will be the guest lecturer for the Ninth Annual Learnings from the Global Marketplace at Briar Cliff University, Wednesday, March 6, at 5 p.m. in the Saint Francis Center on campus. O’Brien will discuss her global marketing career and offer advice on how to succeed in the dynamic and changing global marketplace.

"I am delighted to share my practical business experience with Briar Cliff students and look forward to addressing the role of global companies in local and regional markets," O’Brien said.

O’Brien’s career spans over 20 years of marketing leadership positions, including vice president for marketing at Harrah’s properties and tribal gaming experience in several states, negotiations of multi-million dollar sponsorship and licensing deals with Disney, Warner Bros., Major League Baseball and Live Nation.

Starting out as a journalist for New York Newsday and Ladies' Home Journal, among others, she has served as an international consultant for the Portuguese Trade Commission, NFL International and Chase Manhattan Bank of London.

O’Brien holds a bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism from Syracuse University's Newhouse School and an MBA in International Marketing and Information Systems from Fordham University.

This free public lecture is a Doyle Leadership event, sponsored by the Department of Business and Enactus at Briar Cliff University.

The Richard J. Doyle Leadership Scholarship is a selective four-year program that involves scholarship recipients in leadership education, training, community services on and off campus, career development, leadership internships and mentoring relations with faculty and administrators.
