True Blue Gem of the Week

Paul OlsonPaul Olson

WHO HE IS: Dr. Paul Olson is the Chair of Division of Social and Behavioral Science and Associate Professor of Sociology. He has spent the past nine years at BCU.

WHY HE WAS NOMINATED:

Dr. Olson was instrumental in developing BCU's Center for Justice and Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program. Over the weekend, he was recognized by the Pier Center for Autism for his role in forging a relationship between the organization and Briar Cliff. The Pier Center provides behavioral treatments for children on the autism spectrum. Students in Briar Cliff's ABA program now serve their practicums at the Pier Center, where they gain hands-on experience that will prepare them to become behavior analysts.

In July, Dr. Olson will take the next step in his career, becoming the Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, N.D.

Congratulations to Paul Olson, our True Blue Gem of the Week for May 10!
