Marian Pesky is an instructor in the HPER department while overseeing Briar Cliff's Champions of Character Program and its Council of Athletes. She also has an active role with Peer Advising Leaders, assisting with new student orientations and first year advising.
Pesky, also the Senior Women's Administrator of the Briar Cliff Athletic Department, has been a part of Briar Cliff since 1969. She came to Briar Cliff after earning undergraduate and graduate degrees from Central Missouri State University. Pesky was instrumental in the inception of women's athletics at Briar Cliff. She served as the school's first coach in volleyball, softball, basketball and tennis. She coached volleyball for 25 years, compiling a staggering record of 634-283 and earning numerous awards and accolades. She coached softball for nine seasons, basketball for six and tennis for two. She stepped down from coaching in 1993. In 1998, she was inducted into the Briar Cliff Athletic Hall of Fame.
Pesky and her husband, Mike, have four grown children and three grandchildren.
