Laurel Meine, Director of Counseling, began her position at Briar Cliff University in the fall of 2005. Laurel holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling from the University of South Dakota. At BCU, Laurel provides direct individual and group counseling sessions for all students to enhance their personal and academic development. Her job responsibilities include; Campus Wide Mental Health programming and education, as well as on-going community networking and collaboration on Mental Health Issues. Further job responsibilities also include supporting student recruitment, success, and retention through co-advising, 2 Student Organizations; (CHOICES) Choosing Healthy Options In College Enhances Self-Esteem and (SOURCE) Students for Openness, Understanding, Respect, Compassion and Equality. Previously, Laurel worked as an Employee Assistance Counselor at the Mercy Behavioral Clinic.
